Three-Part Structures is a body of work investigating the spatial and pictorial relationship between three elements. Each work consists of three units whose arrangement forms a structural configuration defined by distance, proportion, and orientation. The individual parts appear both as autonomous forms and as components of a larger order. Meaning emerges through their relation to one another — through repetition, displacement, and balance within the three-part constellation. The reduced formal language directs perception toward spatial relations and transitions between elements. Three-Part Structures explores how an open spatial order can develop from the arrangement of several modules, in which perception is shaped by intervals, positions, and the interaction between form and surrounding space.

 

Three-Part Structures ist eine Werkgruppe, die sich mit der räumlichen und malerischen Beziehung von drei Elementen beschäftigt. Die Arbeiten bestehen aus drei Einheiten, deren Anordnung ein strukturelles Gefüge bildet, das durch Abstand, Proportion und Orientierung bestimmt wird. Die einzelnen Teile erscheinen zugleich als autonome Formen und als Bestandteile einer übergeordneten Ordnung. Bedeutung entsteht aus ihrem Verhältnis zueinander — aus Wiederholung, Verschiebung und Balance innerhalb der dreiteiligen Konstellation. Die reduzierte Formensprache lenkt die Wahrnehmung auf Relationen im Raum und auf Übergänge zwischen den Elementen. Three-Part Structures untersucht, wie sich aus der Anordnung mehrerer Module eine offene räumliche Ordnung entwickeln kann, in der Wahrnehmung durch Intervalle, Positionen und das Zusammenspiel von Form und Umgebung bestimmt wird.
